Gordo Is The Real Deal
Yo! We got a treat for y'all today. Usually we are interviewing up and coming talent out of Texas, but today we had to link with South Carolina for some work! 🔥🔥🔥 This cat is very humble and his music is crazy! We feel like he will be one of the greats and it is such a good feeling to have him become a part of the All That family. He goes by the name of Gordo! Remember that name because I promise you it will be a household name!
1. What's your stage name. "Gordo" 2. How long have you been doing music? "2 years." 3. What inspired you to start making music? "Wanting to express myself and alotta Weezy." 4. Who do you look up to in the music industry? Why? "Weezy, Cole, Kendrick, Drake, Big Sean, and Chainz because I feel like they do what they feel. They just run off their emotions versus what we as fans want to hear. I’m always excited to hear the new shit." 5. Where are you from? What was it like growing up there? "Greenville, SC. It’s just Greenville. Not much to do, not many people to look up to. It has its good and bad like everywhere. I love it and wouldn’t change or claim I’m from anywhere else at any time." 6. What is your ultimate goal making music? "Being my all my friends’ favorite rapper." 7. What do you think of the music scene today and what could you contribute to it? "Bars with substance without being preachy. I’m actually picking your pain as I’m rapping, but you’ll feel so good singing along you won’t be able to tell there’s an actual message behind it." 8. What are your thoughts on hurricane Harvey and all the other tragedies going on in America right now? "I would never wish it on any other city and place ever. It sucks that things like tragedies or bad politics are what we have to come together on versus love period." 9. Do you have any celebrity crushes? If so, who? 👀 "A few! Sanaa Lathan, Dascha Polanco, Regina Hall, Miracle Watt, Keri Hilson, women are art." 10. Where can the people find your music? (Drop all social media links) @864gordo on twitter & IG @fat_rmf on SC My last tape was ‘916’ which you can find on Spinrilla. https://spinrilla.com/mixtapes/mc-gordo-916 "‘Everything Unfinished’ is the next one that is dropping in October on iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Soundcloud, etc." 11. Tell us a little about your latest music. What was your inspiration? What was the process of making it? What's next for you? "My next tape is basically me looking at things that I was doing and deciding to grow up. As I began to realize as I grew I was stepping on toes because I moving on from things I find now to be childish or immature. Everything Unfinished is me trying to be better than I was yesterday. I write most verses on the spot. I just let whatever was on my mind spill out. More music is next I’m too cold to stop. Too much love from my people and city to stop.. Shoutout @JRBEATZ888 that’s my guy and engineer for life check him out! "
