Willy Byrd 🦅

We are so happy about this next artist! He is one of those artist that is overlooked now, but he will definitely wake up the music industry in 2018! Willy Byrd not only makes amazing music, he is one of the most humble up and coming artist. Check out interview below. 🙏🏽

1. What's your stage name.

“My stage name is Willy Byrd, which is really my real name because my middle name is William and my last name is Byrd!” 2. How long have you been doing music?

“I've only been seriously making music for a little over a year now. I always wanted to make music but I never really took myself seriously and did something with it before then.” 3. What inspired you to start making music?

“What inspired me to start making music is the lack of meaningful content in today's hip-hop. I feel like there's a lot of artists that are just talking shit that doesn't mean anything and I hate it, and if you want something to be changed why not start to do it yourself the way you want.” 4. Who do you look up to in the music industry? Why?

“I legit look up to so many different artists in the game and couldn't even list them all on one page, but if I had to say the ones that influence me the most I would go with Drake for his versatility and ability to display raw emotion, Lil Wayne for his bars like making you have to think about it before understanding it, eminem for his unique style and flow, and kanye for his overall creativity and ability to make a unique sound with every album.” 5. Where are you from? What was it like growing up there?

“I'm from Tacoma and Puyallup Washington about an hour south of Seattle. Both of those cities are where I spent mostly all my time growing up and made me who I am today yet they both are very different, puyallup is really urban and full of a lot of preppy well off kids while Tacoma is very gritty and kinda ghetto but I like them equally for different reasons!” 6. What is your ultimate goal makinng music?

“My ultimate goal in music is definitely to make money doing something I genuinely love doing. I also want to have an impact and young people's life's through sound just like so many artists did to me!” 7. What do you think of the music scene today and what could you contribute to it?

“To be honest it seems like the music scene today is really fake and people are acting like what they think the people want to see. Me I could bring a real, raw, honest voice, a whole different perspective. I'm someone who isn't from the hood or a bad family, both my parents were around and helped out a lot in my life, but I have had a lot of different struggles to deal with such as being from where I am with the color of my skin and wanting to be a successful rapper. No one has ever seen that before.” 8. What are your thoughts on Trump?

“Honestly I try to keep the politics out of it because coming from the suburbs and being around the ghetto I have a lot of friends on both sides of things. But the thing I will say is trump is someone who was bankrupt 7 different times and got himself out of it every time. To be as determined to succeed as he is, I think it's inspiring and makes me want to go out and get a billion myself!”

9. Do you have any celebrity crushes? If so, who?

“Bruh I am absolutely in love with Niykee Heaton.. like my biggest dream is to do a song with her because she got a great voice and is the perfect looking female in my opinion... also Rihanna ain't too shabb” 10. Where can the people find your music? (Drop all social media links)

“In 2018 I see myself finally getting the credit I deserve and have worked hard for. I'm hoping to locally be big by then but if I can get to a national platform next year that would be an absolute dream come true!”
