Thy Royalty 👑
This next group definitely has what it takes to make a of noise in the music industry this year. All the way from Monroe, Louisiana they call themselves “Thy Royalty” The work ethic these guys have is amazing and their music is even better!
1. What's your stage name(s).
Group name: Thy Royalty, members: J the MC and King Parks 2. How long have you been doing music?
We’ve been doing music for probably 5 or 6 years but only in the past year or so started recording higher quality stuff. Most of our stuff from the earlier days we didn’t have the right equipment so it never sounded like what we needed it to to really do something with. 3. What inspired you to start making music?
The inspiration came from just a love for the culture honestly. Hip Hop always felt like a genre that you could take anywhere you wanted to. Not just that but the chance to make some cash and help others out and/or make some changes in the world, all about it. It’s a beautiful thing. 4. Who do you look up to in the music industry? Why?
Nas, T.I., Wayne, Big L, Guru, Jeezy...too many to name honestly. All those guys perfected their crafts and really brought something to the game when they came in. Originality, dedication, passion for the shit. All those cats embodied that. 5. Where are you from? What was it like growing up there?
Monroe, LA. It was cool growing up here. Not the biggest town. A lot of people try to down what you do but at the same time there’s a lotta people who, when they see what you’re about, will definitely help support you. Built a lot of friendships and relationships in this city. Definitely a product of it. It helped build character, wouldn’t trade it for anything. 6. What is your ultimate goal making music?
The ultimate goal is to make it big time. Get our name known but at the same time give back, help the less fortunate. We ain’t trying to blow up and stunt on everybody. We just want our shot to do what’s right. Music will hopefully be our outlet for that. 7. What do you think of the music scene today and what could you contribute to it?
The music scene today is not ideal. I mean there’s a lotta cats out there spitting real shit. Joey, Kendrick, Krit, but for the most part the game seems a little lackluster. We’re trying to bring back that 90’s, 00’s feel to the game. That’s what we know really. That’s what we grew up on. 8. What are your thoughts on Trump?
Lol dude is crazy. Never should’ve been in the position to be president. It’s like a reality show now. But we try not to get too involved in politics. We don’t focus on that. 9. Do you have any celebrity crushes? If so, who?
King def got a thing for Cocaine Lorraine lmao. Me on the other hand I guess I’d say Nicki. I mean c’mon now who wouldn’t. 10. Where can the people find your music? (Drop all social media links) These are some cyphers that I (J the MC) was in back in the day along with me and Kings latest single, Kite, off our upcoming album, D4G (Destined 4 Greatness) dropping this year. https://youtu.be/9QnTVIpJbo8 https://youtu.be/H81bYrGxMCs https://youtu.be/m7pGqBw3oyQ https://youtu.be/VmMY0YSDgHg Here’s my soundcloud https://m.soundcloud.com/j-the-mc-1 11. The new year is here! Where do you see yourself in 2018?
In 2018 we definitely plan on dropping our album D4G and try to get some shows going. Not the easiest to get on around here but we’re working at it best believe.
